Program Manager (f/w/d)

Global Rail Consulting is a young but fast-growing company working in different domains of international Railway Infrastructure Management.  Our focus is on bringing new technology and digitalisation to the railway industry in order to support the optimization of the railway asset management.

In order to stay lean and agile, we run projects with different partners worldwide having top knowledge and experience in different domains. Project coordination between the different partners is critical in order to ensure these projects to be of top quality.

In order to manage different projects and to deliver quality, we are looking for a program manager that can manage various of these projects and ensures coordination and proper communication to GRC’s management, its partners and customers

You are responsible for the coordination of different projects. For every project you ensure all partners and parties within the different organisation have a clear understanding of their roles and tasks. Jointly with the project leader you organise the necessary milestones to define different actions and you ensure the follow up.

You are the lead for ensuring the gathering of crucial information, permitting to show the progress of the project and to communicate this within the organisation.

You support management to define and determine the risks and issues within the projects that hamper progress and quality of the outcomes.

As Program Manager

• Be willing and able to lead the execution and delivery of multi-faceted projects
• You will ensure consistent implementation of best practice standards across the portfolio (e.g. project risk management, Technical Authority Framework, project controls, lessons learned)
• Proactively identifies and timely addresses any issues or problems during the execution phase to avoid slippage or budget overrun
• Provide support to the colleague responsible for project delivery and ensure that key knowledge, sharing and learnings are also communicated across the integrated Projects organization
• You ensure that execution is supported by high quality, skilled and experienced resources to ensure successful delivery
• You contact all parties within the project
• You help define the objectives and the activities that are to be undertaken
• You understand how the different parties work together
• You determine a realistic planning
• You follow up execution of work on a regular base
• You identify the risks that may endanger the progress of work and search for solutions to cover them
• You communicate about the progress of work and of the problems on a regular base
• You create a lean and effective communication within the project
• You create and assure regular communication of the overall progress of the different projects

• University Degree (Masters / Bachelor) in Engineering, Technology or Sciences or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project management tools (Prince2, PMBok)
• Proven track record of managing / delivering projects
• Demonstrable track record leading multi-disciplinary teams
• Successfully executed projects within a multinational and complex or remote environment
• Demonstrated strong analytical, communication and collaboration skills with focus on approaching new people and environments
• Have a passion for technical innovation
• Are pragmatic and always in search of practical solutions
• Focus on being a team player
• You speak and write English and German as well as a third language
• Wiling to go on business trips (headquarters are in Vienna, Austria), business trips out of Europe may be necessary occasionally
